FirstCapital is an investment bank with offices in London and Menlo Park, specialising in M&A, private equity and growth capital funding advice for high growth technology companies. Founded in 1999, we have developed a proprietary SMART dealmaking approach and have a strong track record in delivering premium deals. We are looking for a corporate finance intern to support our execution activities. At the end of the internship, the candidate may be considered for a full-time role, depending on their performance and the availability of a suitable vacancy.

Summary responsibilities

 Your responsibilities encompass a broad range of activities related to corporate finance but not limited to:

• Participating actively in the execution of M&A transactions
• Assisting team members in preparing pitches and updating marketing materials with sector research and analysis
• Performing independent research and various analyses of technology companies in support of creating new target lists
• Assisting team members in the preparation of transaction documents

Requirements

• Confident self-starter who is well organised with good attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Fluency in at least one other European language is preferred but not essential
• Ability to multi-task, prioritise, and manage time effectively
• Positive attitude, motivated, proactive and outgoing; willing to take initiative and accept responsibility
• Strong people skills, ability to build rapport and trust with senior executives
• Strong educational background (MSc degree or equivalent) from a leading academic institution
• A genuine passion for technology and investment banking
• Strong analytical abilities and numerical skills, good working knowledge of Excel
